Defined
Clairvoyance
is the ability to gain information about an object, person, location
or event through means other than the known human senses or the
ability to perceive matters beyond the range of ordinary perception.

known as second sight
Many people use the terms Psychic and Clairvoyant interchangeably,
but there are differences in the meanings of the two terms. The
word "Psychic" implies the foretelling or fore knowing
of an event, the term clairvoyant involves the inner sight or the
seeing in the mind of an event, person or place. Clairvoyance may
involve current, past or future events. Psychic ability most often
deals with events which have yet to take place.
Clairsentience is similar to clairvoyance but relates to feeling
or the sense of touch. This involves tuning into the vibrations
of people and objects.
Clairaudience is also related to clairvoyance but deals with psychic
hearing or the ability to hear with the mind.
